If you camp at the little dunes that are right off the highway, is it possible to ride around to the big dunes with sand tires without tearing them all up? In other words, is there enough sand between the two areas for sand tires????

Reason I ask, we have a lot of little kids with us, and it would be best for them if we can camp out at the little stuff, and just let the older riders find their way over to the big dunes. Haven't been to Dunont in a few years, so not sure what the current conditions are like.

Yeah you can......its a good 30 min ride from the small dunes to the large ones but there is plenty of sand on the trail there.

30 minutes??? I haven't been out here in a few years, but as I recall it might have taken us 10 minutes tops to ride around to the bigger dunes.............

Thanks for the reply!

Yes paddles are fine; depending on how fast you go (do you have little ones with you or not) 10-20 minutes. My kids always enjoy that little trip there and back.
