Someone gave me a large piece of fake grass to put out in front of my trailor, and I was wondering what people use to hold theirs down efficiently. I was thinking long nails through the corners or stakes that have the hook on the end to catch the edge of the 'grass'. What do you think? Kind of like this but bigger.

It's either going to blow away or get completely covered in sand. I don't even mess with carpet in the sand anymore. When the wind blows, You'll be shoveling your carpet out....

I use it all the time... helps keep the sand out of the camper..
We use either rocks, coolers, tool boxes, large/small animals... whatever it takes. I suppose you could stake it down, but that's more work than it's worth... My $.02

I use a variety of outdoor carpet that's a loop construction, not commercial carpet with jute style backing, but still heavier than the grass. It stays down a little better on its own, although there are still lawn chairs etc. on it. It does roll up real easy like the grass to stow away for the trip home. They usually have samples on the grass board at your local carpet guy or you can pick up 6x9's in different colors at Coscto when they have them in.

I actually use my ramps as an entrance to the toyhauler in the sand. Keeps your shoes out of the sand on the way in and the sand falls off your shoes through the rungs of the ramps.... Lay them down flat right in front of the steps to your toyhauler... so far, it's worked great!!

If the wind picks up, I think the nails would tear the fake grass. I use rocks at Dumont but I think anything with some weight would be good to go.
