i recently purchased my first quad (05 banshee) the stocked a arms are no good, iam trying to replace them. I can buy some used ones but i dont want someone elses problem. Besides i can find some after market ones for almost the same price as stocked. Only problem is i dont know what all that +2+1 mean. Can anyone help?? i live in upstate NY i wont be doing any sand riding mostly dirt trails, train tracks, mud, etc.. i would also like to know what tires i should be riding on. any help is highly appreciated. thanxx
The numbers represent how much longer they are then stock, in inches. This may pose a problem if you go too long, then your brake lines wont be long enough to reach the calipers, so youll have to get longer brake lines too. Used stock a-arms can be a good choice as long as the bushings are not worn to bad and the ball joints are tight, no experience with a-arms on a shee, but as long as they are not bent or dented, and the ball joints are good it is a cheap fix. For example on very early warriors the ball joints screw out and can be replaced, however on later ones they are pressed in and you have to get a whole new a-arm when they become excessively worn. People switch to longer a-arms for mostly racing, basically the further apart your front wheels are, the better the bike will handle. In the case with my girls warrior, I didnt go with extended a-arms because some trails we ride her bike fits perfectly thru pairs of trees.

thanxs higgy, i called around for new ball joints and they dont sell them seperately witch means i'll have to go with the a-arms. Quick question i dont want to go to long so how do +2+1 sound to you, those are the ones i see most. i was thinking of (FullFlights) the complete set for $359.00
