With the introduction of the Rengade 800 & A/C 1000 seams like the bikes just seem to geting bigger & bigger h/p! I'm asking this question because I want to know what other peoples thoughts are on this, not that I am against it or for it, just quirious. Do you think the size of engines/cc's should stop where there at or need to get larger with more h/p?

I asked a similar question in the utility forum and got heckled about it. I was just curious as to what types of work everyone was using the bigger motors for.

It will end when the economy gets so bad that nobody is going to want to spend $10,000 on a play toy, when they can get an excellent trail quad for half that!

this is the land of 90" tv's, 500 hp family cars, 5000 sq-ft homes for a family of 2, trucks that can tow 25k pounds, 50oz drinks, 2 pound burgers, etc...

We are a nation with the mentality of "bigger is better". I don't things will change until the gooberment steps in with some regulations, or until the manufacturers price themselves out of the economy.

This is sport quad country, and the Rhino's are going crazy, not to mention lots of toy hauler trailers and big expensive trucks to pull them...so that is where folks are already spending their big bucks!

Utes have never really sold around here....especially big ones. They are seen more as specialty machines for hunter types, but for some reason they do have some strange appeal with the senior citizens segment (the folks least able to handle a huge heavy machine in nasty terrain and those most likely to get killed in a rollover!).

Maybe it's body size that determines engine size! The fatter I get the more power I need to get around.lol

My rule is never ride a utility anywhere I can ride a sport, and never ride big and heavy when I can ride lighter and smaller.

I have NEVER ridden a sport quad, I dont even know anyone who owns one, All the riding we do is heavy trails and LOTS of mud so the Ute is the only way to roll. Not to mention I am 6'3 360lb, when I sat on any of the sports quads at the dealer ship I felt like Grape ape on a roller skate... And as someone posted before because of my size i wanted a large cc bike to handle the load. You dont buy a s10 to pull a 5th wheel.

Edited for stupidity, my son has a kfx90 guess that counts as a sport duh lol and one person who rides with us on a 300ex and I have to keep my tow strap ready constantly to pull them out.

Nothing against sports, they have their place, just not anywhere we like to ride.
