Ive bought a brand new chain and sprocket set which i had to have imported from america but i cant see how to fit it!

ive tried taking apart the rear axle / driveshaft etc and cant get it to budge at all

is it stuck with age or am i doing something wrong?

ive also picked up a wiring diagram and im going to completely reedo the wiring on my trike for a bit of peace of mind

and ive bought a brand new ignition coil for it as it was missing one when i received it

i just need to sort out the fuel tank pipes and then it should be running

Did you buy a manual if not that would be next
I would suggest Clymer M311 it will cover 1970-1987 ATC.TRX Fourtrax 70cc-125cc

Now shanging your rear sprocket is actually fairly easy if done correct
Remove the sheetmetal cover
Loosen chain adjuster this is done on the Right side loosen the Nut 14mm your adjuster (Idler Sprocket) on Left will drop
You need to grind the side of one of the links on your old chain and break chain
Do Not just pull old chain out
Use your old chain to pull your new chain around front sprocket when reassembling
Now replacing rear sprocket
Sheetmetal removed chain out of way
Remove the Right rear wheel hub from Axle
Easiest if both rear wheel hubs removed set back of trike on stand (wood)
Now the fun part
On the Right side of axle
There are two large nuts next to brake drum
Remove these then slide the brake drum off good time to inspect rear brakes
Then slide axle out to Left
Then unbolt sprocket assembly from hub 14mm nuts and bolts
then split sprocket carrier 10mm nuts and bolts
Replace sprocket
Reassemble
Also while appart check axle bearings
Only tricky part about reassembly is axle nut adjust and Loc Tite axle nuts
I do hope this helps getting sprocket changed
As I am sure you have figured out by now the smaller part of the sprocket hub is part of the axle
Good luck

Also look on dratv.com

Look under the hi preformance stuff
Thanks

Ok well the chain and sprockets are on ands tensioned

the ignition coil arrived! i put it on, adjusted the settings and bought some new fuel pipes and fitted them.

put fresh oil in the engine and fresh fuel, then pulled the cord and it started!

i rode it down the drive (not hard but gently) and then rode it back, shut it off and now it wont start at all!

im getting rather annoyed cos its just being as money pit now and as much as i love riding / working on it, i cant afford much more!

have i set something wrong? fuel is set to 'on' and the choke is on.

it fires for about 5 secs at best now

any help is appreciated please people

cheers
matt

Ok....

Ive worked out how to start it, i have to put the choke on and hold the throttle flat out and it will start.

and i have found the problem with it,

it wont idle, i think its just a case of that the throttle needs adjusting.

But what i need to know is how do you adjust the throttle?

please help a stuck ATC'er

Will it idle on half choke if it will then you need to rebuild the carb. it's clogged up. ( the pilot jet ). I don't know about a 110 but my 250sx has a black plastic knob on the right side of the carb turn it to set the idle.
