I have 2004 sportsman 4x4. How do I remove the right front axle from the differential? I have taken every bolt out of the diff and it does not seperate to remove the c clip. It seems the right and left axles are connected internally. When i pull on the right the left moves and stops the right from coming out.

Are you saying don't attempt, it's too difficult. And just take it in to the dealer. I had a feeling looking at the clip on the replacement axle that that was the only way to remove.

yes it has the round (opposed to flat) clip on the shaft. I just spoke to service and he says the same . Twist it a little to find a point where it seems to be at its farestmost towards the outside and then give it a good yank and it should come out. And I better bolt that sucker back together before yanking on it like a wildman. Ehhh? And thanks "Mechanike" for responding to my situation. Safe riding to you.
