i have a polaris 325 magnum and recently had been getting gas in the crankcase oil area. someone told me it was probably the needle not set right. so i took apart the carb and i was trying to get the float bowl out by removing the long pin that hold it in place but it doesnt move what do i do?

not sure what year the bike is, so i just took a peak at a 2002 and not sure what pin your talking about once you take the bowl off you should be able to see the float and if it has free movement.

You have to take a small punch and hammer and drive the float pin out a little ways, it is the needle and seat that is your problem, get a new one and change your oil, to prevent this from happening again turn the gas valve off when its parked for any length of time.

The seat for the Float needle is what the float needle sits in to stop fuel flow, this is rarely the problem, probally just float height needs to be set.

the float pin is kind of a booger to get out but it will come out, also if you have an spring loaded center punch, it will push it out for you, and the needle and seat goes out all the time, replace at least two a week at work.

needle and seat, a common problem, i use small wire cutters, the type used for pcb assy. and repair, they are small enough to get behind the nail head on the float pivot pin, and it comes right out......stroker
