Here is one place to get the belt. If you run a search you should find other places that sell the belts. Give it some time others will respond.

My ATV also just "stopped and wouldn't go forward..." it was the rear axle. My ATV did not come with the sleeve spacers over the rear axle, and the rear sprocket moved over to where it was not on the splined part of the shaft, so it just spun on the shaft. You might check and see if the sprocket is moving (also the bolts shearing could cause the same thing, the sprocket bolts were covered earlier as one of the things to change right away). Otherwise, it is pretty likely that it broke the belt.

Hope this helps,

I just removed the rear sprocket drive shaft and in so doing had to remove the CVT belt and pulleys. The pulleys both came off without a puller. I did use an impact to remove the nuts though. Upon inspection of the what I thought was a bent driveshaft I actually found cracks in the shaft. Also, the case bearing for that shaft feels kinda rough.

I have left 3 msgs for the dealer and 1 numerical beeper over a 3 day period, but no response. Does anyone know how I can get these parts other than the dealer.

Thanks in advance.

basseyl,

If your dealer won't call you back try Yamoto. See if they can get the parts or send you to a dealer that will deal with you. Also run a search on your engine, it's a Honda style GY6. Another thing to try is, look into the manufacturers that sell the 150 buggies. They use the same style engine. They may have parts or can get them for you. Take the shaft to a local machine shop. See if they can make you a new one.

And as a last resort, you may have to replace the engine. I know of a place where you may be able to get a replacement for a good price.

On the bearing, pull it out and measure it. There are plenty of places online to buy bearings.

Parts

Hopefully others will respond on where to get parts or other options to look at.

If you do find a place that has the replacement parts post the information.

Also post the information on how you got the quad fixed once it's repaired.

Good Luck.

SB.

You should be able to get any parts you need from Patriot. From what I understand, their prices are not too bad. If you need bearings, I would buy a good replacement such as Fafnir, NSK, or SKF. I would not bother with the Chinese replacements.

For parts, try Rick Mazur... he has an eBay store, Mazur's ATV sales. His e-mail is as follows:

"Richard Mazur" rictammazur@msn.com

He can also sell a reverse kit for the 2004 models, and it replaces the sprocket shaft... for about $200 you can get what you need AND add a reverse!!!

Hope this helps,

Thanks smb05 and everyone, I pulled the trans. cover off and it was indeed a broken belt. I was able to go to the link you suggested and ordered the belt. Im just waitin on the mail now. Sounds like those sprocket bolts are the next thing to look into.

Thanks again.

Patriot motorcycle settled out of court with Yamaha but Yamoto is still pending. Yamoto has changed thier design of the bodies. Most of the parts that Yamoto uses like the brakes, suspension, and motors were not changed because soo many other companies use the same design parts and the Honda clone motor is not patented anymore. The main reason Yamaha was suing was because Yamoto looked exactly like the Yamaha and Yamaha did not like that.

Quite and old, but very informative thread. Thanks to all for the thorough input. I just bought for the wife a new 05-06? Red Komoto 150. Seems to be a clone of the clones. While searching for something for the wife, I had these criteria: Auto or Semi-automatic, reverse, and some kind of back-up starting method. About all the 150 clones have this. Next was the dual A-Arms up front and price ($1050 delivered). What sold me on the Komoto was that the rear shock was not mounted straight up and down. It is angled and moved forward quite a bit. My theory was that this would give a smoother ride. Since there has not been much review on the newer models, I'll chime in my 2 cents:

1. Assembly was fairly easy. I had a tough time aligning the bolt holes for the front fender bar guards. One of the bolt holes was stripped and the other bar needed quite a bit of bending to make it fit. I broke a fender mount doing this, but no big deal. The tie rod ends that bolt in the center to the steering tube were cotter pinned, but very loose. As far as anything being loose, nothing has jumped out at me yet.

2. Ergonomics. Me AND the wife noticed that you seem to be leaning foward. I think I'll just put on some bigger tires up front. The forward/reverse lever is mounted in a bad area for hitting the leg/knee. I think I'll just glue some pipe insulation to the edges for a cushion. Foot pegs also seem back a little too far.

3. Starting/Carburation: It has a manual choke lever mounted on the handlebars. It has been about 30 deg each time I have been starting it. Since right out of the crate it has started and run perfectly. Even the wife has no problem starting it!!!!!!!!!!!! Filter is KN style with the silk cover.

4. Suspension: Up front, the dual a-arms are great, not stiff, Adjustable, no complaints. Rear suspension has plenty of travel, but hard as a rock!!! The only way I can get it to move more than an 1" is to stand on the rear grab bar and jump up/down. With that and my 180 lbs I can get about 8 " travel.

So far I haven't ridden it hard. I will this weekend though as a test and then go through it more thoroughly. If all goes well we will go with another couple to WV for a weekend ride the following week. Up there can get pretty hard core.

Here's some input I'm looking for: I'm concerned about the location of the air filter not being up high enough. Something up under the seat would be better. Some of those creek beds are deep and unpredictable. I don't want to drown it. But with the battery compartment and the shock mount up so close, I don't know where it would go? There looks like there was a filter in the front end, but that's the first place to get wet.

The rear shock has plenty of travel, just WAY too HARD!! It does not appear adjustable and doubt any adjustment would help. The shock is 10" eye to eye. Does anyone know of a replacement? Or even a spring change? I'll work on the mounts if I have to, but would prefer knowing someone else has already done the testing.

So there are my issues so far. Seems like many of the earlier issues have been resolved with the newer models. After I ride it a little harder I'll give an update.

Welcome to the forum Coma, nice review of the Komoto 150. Probubly a good idea starting its own thread about it too.

With the addition of the Jetmoto 200 the boys and I have been riding the Yamoto 150 a little. With in the first 5 minutes of us riding the Yamoto we had to stop and cut off the bottom loop of the bumper. The wife never noticed it , but my oldest son got it hung up in that loop quite easily. I had read about that from so many of you whove contributed to this thread that it made me laugh.

Welcome to the forum BeginnerATV, Let me ask you a few questions. How old are you? Do you have any experience with quads or dirt bikes? If so which ones? What do you plan on doing with this atv?(what kind of riding?) And lastly do you have any mechanical skills?

I'm 27 I use to ride my brothers 250 3 wheeler. I have riden plenty of ATV's before. I am looking for a weekend atv... I want something to take out with friends. Trails, mud, etc. Like Maybe Spring Creek. I have taken my 4X4 truck up there a few times...But I am tired of messing that thing up..... I do some work with my hands on my truck...so if it is something small Then I could fix it....But I don't want to be working on it Every weekend.....or have it breaking down on me when I am out on the trails. Just your honest opinon would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you can use a clutch I would suggest the 200. It has higher performance than the 150 but isnt fully automatic like the 150. Both of these are midsized quads so you might be a little more cramped on the 150 too.
