Does anyone have any suggestions on how to loosen up the suspension on a Yamoto 110cc. It is so stiff right now it rattles my teeth out. Any other shocks that might match up like a raptor 80 perhapsd?

I have not tried it, but I have heard that the Raptor shocks can be mated up. Careful, and test travel afterwards! A rubber stop to pad bottoming out may be in order for softer shocks.

well apparently there is some good news for us, we read that by removing the air flow restrictor plate and turning the governor off that we may actually be able to get some power out of this little 110cc One Banger. we will be doing some mods tonight in the garage and will post the results tomorrow. "Maybe we should have read the manual earlier" lol. We're also going to adjust the tire pressure some to get a softer ride as well as try and lower the level of the foot shift lever to allow for easier shifting.

Careful on the tire pressure, those sidewalls are a tad soft, you can roll the bead off the rim in a turn.

yeah, the changes helped the power a little, but I just don't think this is enough quad to keep up on our weekend excursions.

From what I see though the Eton is like 2x as much.

We bought my son a Marshin 150 which is very similar, and after getting it broke in, and getting rid of the junk air box, are very happy with it. We made a loop @ 45 mi. on the trails up in wis. over the weekend and had zero probs. The only thing my 9-yr. old didn't like was the throttle, too hard to push, and no cushion. We fixed that with a moose throttle extension, and he can't be happier. All for half the price as a Polaris 90 c.c. We have a Polaris 50 c.c. that he started on, and the 6 yr. old rides now, and we had more trouble with it than we have with this piece of junk as the polaris dealer called it.

we bought it right outside the campground at a local dealer. Its an extension of hard rubber I think, you just wrap it around the throttle and clamp it down with the supplied screws. Boy just brought me the wrapper, its called the thumb assist pro made by moose utility division. It gives them much more leverage, and also they can use the heel of their hand. By the way the wife also says that she likes it better now as well, as she has to share the 150 with the boy untill both finances and hauling capabilities inprove.

lovbyts think about y you have to pay a little more for the etons its called quality you get what you pay for + yamamoto doesnt have near the dealer support through the usa.

bombman, that's exactly what the Japanese dealers argue against buying eton and other off-shore brands, and now you're telling someone the same thing about Yamoto. I don't think near double the price is the same as a just a little more. seems like there are parts for these things, but you could be right about how well the dealer is supported by them.

If I'm going to pay that much for something called an Eton then why wouldn’t I buy a Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha or Kawasaki which have been proven.

what speeds are you getting with the 150 yamoto? I just bought one and the kids have about 8-9 hours on it. radar says 32mph, no more. thats with throttle limit screw all the way out.

the kids sundiro(eton,dinli...) 2stroke 90cc gets 34-35 on radar. my friends Dinli 90 is a little quicker of the line but runs about 30mph top.

I thought that the yamoto would get at least 40mph, but hasn't happened yet. what adjustments are needed? It engine sounds good but just does go fast enough. I'm not looking for huge top speeds, just what i have heard from others with this 150 yamoto are getting. maybe something is wrong.

my reviews on the '04 Yamoto 150:
it's heavier compared to other kids atv's
little boggy off the start
stiff suspension
cheap wiring (like any "off brand")
very stable (thanks to flat profile tires)
well worth the money so far !
cheap for a 4 stroke Kids ATV with the features it has (Ebay: from $1,000-$1500 shipped!)
my '00 Sundiro 90cc reviews:
same as eton
faster than other 90cc ATV's
i would say a little less or about the same quality than the Yamoto
starter went up after 2 summer of use
rear shock fell apart after 4th summer
auto-choke issues after 2nd summer(just starts hard when not used for more than 4-5days)
not very stable riding(tires are more "rounded")
a few minor repairs (broken mouts on oil injection tank...)
cost too much for a small kids ATV (listed for about $2,000 in '01)

Our Current ATV's:

2001 White/Black Raptor (a few mods)
2001 Polaris Explorer 400 4x4
2000 Sundiro 90

i got my 2 quads today. started right up. on the title, the 150cc states the make as loncin. the 250cc commando states the make as qianjiang. i was told the 150cc was cfmoto. anyway, they are overseas atv's. too tired to mess with them now, going back to sleep for midnight shift.

update:

the commando 250cc is indeed a qianjiang atv made in china.
webite is below.
http://qjmotorcycle.com/atv250.html

i havent found any info on the other one yet but sure looks like a yamato 150cc or a cfmoto. still looking for loncin.

anyone with any info greatly appreciated.

took back the factor 150cc. stalled onceand battery died i think. went and got another 250cc commando and loving them both. my 12 yr old enjoys the 250cc over the 150cc anyway.

Have you taken out the restrictor plate in the air intake (air cleaner) yet? Once the bike is broken in, you take out that plate and you'll notice a pretty substantial difference in performance, and it will get a little louder, too.

I bought a Yamoto 150 about 2 month's ago for my wife. I was looking for a used Yamaha Breeze and wanted to spend around $1500.00. After 3-4 month's of looking all I could find was very abused ones for around $1500.00 or like new ones for $2700.00-$2900.00. Almost what a new one would cost. So when I found the Yamoto on ebay for $1500.00 it seemed like a good deal. I would never have even concidered it if I was buying it for my son's.They are very tough on everything they ride.I would never have dreamed it would stand up to dirtforashirt's "testing". By the way that is how I found this forum.I typed "yamoto 150" into google and found his review on this forum.

When I got the crate home I put the quad together and after changing the oil it fired right up. First thing I noticed was that it had no rear suspension, the spring preload was turned all the way up, I set it on loosest setting and got some suspension travel. I have never seen a quad or bike that used coil bind to stop suspension travel.Went for a quick spin in the street and it seemed fairly responsive. I noticed that the amount of room it took to turn around was pretty large. On closer inspection I found that the bolt's that mounted the tie rod's stuck down and hit the steering shaft mount. A couple of washer's on each bolt and steering radius was reduced a lot, about 1/3. Next thing I noticed was that the chain was very tight. After checking it out I found that there were no washer's under the bolts that tighten the axle carrier and when you tightened the bolt's it twisted the axle carrier and tightened the chain. 4 washers later that problem was solved.

Next step was to take the quad completely apart and get a real close look at everything.I wanted to loctite all the bolt's too. Scary part was that almost every bolt was loose, and a few were stripped.Fortunately none of the nut's welded to the frame were stripped, so all that was needed was new bolt's, about 1/2 doz. I was not very impressed with the wiring, the connections look "Honda" like but don't seal out water at all.So I taped all the wire's and their connection's.And rerouted the wires and cables. The overall quality of build is pretty good.Weld's look good, layout of component's seemes well thought out.Cable's are nylon lined.Chain seem's high quality. The air filter box is tough to get to one bolt but if you twist the air box you can get to the one tough screw.

I have already changed a few thing's. I am a machinist and love to make stuff out of aluminum. I could not stand the look's of the chrome chain guard so I made a new one. Much smaller and open's up that side of the quad. Next was the rear sprocket disc guard, also very ugly and really cut down on ground clearance under axle carrier. Used some 1/4 alum angle and came up with a two piece design that increased ground clearance about 2".Also I mounted some rubber mud flap's to the metal guard's in front of the foot peg's, wife doesn't want wet feet. I also modified a Answer S/A pro spark arrester from my CR500 to fit the quad. Put a plug in it to keep it as quiet as stock and made a new mount. Future mod's will be to make some larger foot peg's and a new front bumper. Also I want to see if I can modify the shock's, to get rid of the coil bind and get a little more travel .As you can see most of my changes are cosmetic and don't affect performance much.No noticeable performance gain from new muffler.

This Quad will live the life of a princess and will not see any hard riding ever.Boy's are not allowed on it,they abuse stuff, and I dont want to have to fix anything. They have their own dirt bike's anyway. You already have a review of how much abuse this quad will take.Nothing personal "dirtforashirt" but a 10 foot drop off to break the axle,WOW.My wife loves it and has no complaint's at all.She will never find the top speed and think's the suspension is fine.We bought this for her to ride to gas when I am riding enduro's and to putt around on when I go riding.I think this is a great quad for the money and if you have any mechanical skill's at all,you should have no trouble with it. Would definitely spend some time with a bottle of blue loctite before riding it very far.
