    Sorry I have not responded. I do not log on much and not use to the new format.
    As someone already stated make sure your on TDC on compression stroke. there are 2 TDC if not sure just check both and you should find at least some gap on one of the TDC's. It may be less then min. but should be some. It is not the easiest to get the feeler gauge in there so you may try to start with a very small feeler gauge.

    Did you ever check your spark?

    I have an 02 eiger and im trying to adjust the valves. Have it all taken apart. The inspection hole and mark on the cup indicates that the piston is tdc. Where does the feeler guage go?? Book say it goes between the valve end and adjuster nut, but actually the nut just holds it in place do they mean the screw? Is there usally any slack here. Ive read that adjusting the valves helps if they are out of adjustment which i think might be my problem. I have 1100 miles on it.

    Thanks for sending the reply. Ive never seen sell.com before. They have what im looing for at better prices also the manuals ive seen lately are from 65-80 bucks. Have not checked the spark yet. I will very soon. Finishing up putting piston/rings/ carb rebuild on my kids pw 50.
