    Hi,
The spark could be the problem. Some have had to pull the flywheel and sand/clean the stator to get the spark back. If not there, the coil may have gone bad.
    Let's start from there.

good morning sir, i'm new to this forum and joined at the recommendation of another member. he told me that you are the definitive source for information regarding LT80 trouble-shooting.
I'd like to pick your brain if I may...i've got an '87 LT80 that i've only had for about a year, but it's been a sound runner for me as well as the previous two owners.
Last fall, i was letting it idle and warm up while my son got his gear on. when he got on it to take off, it stopped running and hasn't run since.
it will turnover all day long, but simply will not fire. I've verified approximately 120lbs of compression, cleaned the carb, installed new air filters and spark plug. I've dumped raw gas into the cylinder head and it still didn't fire.
Now, there is spark. but to my eye, it seems a little weak which leads me to believe i've got a failed or failing coil. does that sound accurate to you?
any insight you'd be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

    Greg
