He replaced the coil that the spark plug wire goes to. Any thoughts on the oil like substance in the left case were the stator is?

Hey sir, sorry to bother you. My name is Brian. I have an 86 lt230s it is not getting spark. The guy i got it from says he replaced the coil and cdi box and still no spark. I took off the left cover and it has very little oil like substance in it. I want to buy stuff to fix it but i figure since you can not return electical parts i would buy soething it dont need and when i try it the "real" bad part will just short the new part out. hi. i have a 86 lt 230. mine bottoms out and i was wondering if there were any other shocks from a different model that wud fit my quad that are better without spending hundreds of dollars? like a 250 rear shock or something? thanks in advance.

hey lt230sman i here you re the man when it comes to the lt, i also have an 86 which i just changed the piston and rings but i cannot get her to start at all can u help me please
