You cannot power a AC powered GY6 CDI with 12 volts DC. It will not work, and it may blow up with smoke, flame and shrapnel. DC powered CDI's work off 12 volts DC. AC powered CDI's run off moderately high voltage AC power from the stator, which is generated whenever the engine is turning. They are 100% not compatible.

Your question (and the previous on the Chinese quad forum proper) has me confused. You claim to have "hooked it up" (I interpret this to mean you hooked up DC power to an AC powered quad - including the CDI) and it runs better...

If so, I don't believe you - pure and simple. This will not work. Period.

I have no idea what you are doing. But it is certainly not what you *think* you are doing...

Maybe I'm not understanding something very fundamental about what you are trying to do...
