Default lt80 air filter

hey guys I'm guessing the air filter is in the black plastic box ..How to get to it? any tips fenders gotta come off? is it a pita to do? but I wanna know if it's clean or rotted you know. Thanks

Remove the 2 screws that hold it up, disconnect the lil hose on the right side, remove the air tube on the left side, loosen the clamp that holds it on the carb and pry the air boot off the carb.
Here is the tricky part..stick your thumb in the top of the air box and pull out the left side. Do not twist,turn sideways,etc. It'll pull right out.

The rubber intake from carb to black housing has to come off. About 3" up that housing it has a seam there's a outset rounded spot both sides above the clutch housing vent and 1/2" vent hose off plastic cover above foot brake. In that rounded spot there are Phillips screws upside down to loosen that section of housing,which houses the filter. Will have to be brought out the clutch side,will have to squeeze the wide side alittle to get it out.

ok took filter housing off ,found a rip in the elbow..im guessing I know why the carb needs to be clean again? right? theres a K&N filter there..i'm gonna order another elbow but in the mean time im gonna wrap duct tape to keep it sealed..

BTW the filter housing came out pretty easy thanks

i have a few of the elbows i will sell, pm me if your interested, just gotta give me a day or two for the snow to melt so i can open the shed doors lol

well I got the quad running..getting faster at taking off n cleaning reinstalling it now..Grinded a wrench down to get the carb base bolts off. I hope it stays running running now.

update not running again I want to take the tank out ,(to wash it out) I see the 2 bolts where seat covers how many more? do I have to take the front panel off?
plus gonna replace all fuel lines , fuel filter..to start fresh n hopefully solve this issue

any input would be great. this machine was running great yesterday and now it just cranks

You must take the nose piece off. Then under the tank there are 2 fender bolts and 2 bolts that bolt the tank to the frame.

ok thanks I got it off. poured all the gas in to clear jug , see if I find any thing. ok how many vent ports does this carb have..1 for petcock 2 then gas line 3 whats next one to that ? I followed but leads no where. good or bad? sorry for the questions ,just trying to learn these machines.. not giving on this machine , I Will win lol
