you dont need a relay for l.e.d.'s because there isnt enough draw on the electrical system. just wire positive to the battery, and negative to ground. and put in a 5amp fuse to protect it just to be safe. if you were installing normal bulbs then it would depend on how many watts the bulbs are and what their current draw would be.
if you have access to a wiring diagram you should get positive from the key switch instead of straight to the battery so you can't leave it on by mistake
