Question Eton 70cc Viper Issues, updated..

So.. I'm working on a viper 70cc Eton quad for a friend..

Its a 4 stroke, has new fuel filter, clean spark arrestor screan, clean air filters, rebuilt carb, and new cdi and coil.

It starts, and I can throttle up.. but its boggy and when I let off the gas it dies. If I let it idle, it dies after 20 or 30 sec. The spark plug keeps getting fouled up (flooded).

The carb has a rebuild kit in it, with new jets and innards..

Could it be a float issue?

This is my second post, hopefully someone out there can shed some advice..

was the carb kit engine specific? if not id clean up the original jets and try them first. if the float was screwed up it would probably leak out the bowl vent rather than flood the engine. im far more used to 2 stroke etons but own more 4 strokes than I care to mention. also is it manual or auto choke? could be stuck and causing the fat running condition.

I'll ask my buddy if he has the original jets..

It's a manual choke. I'll check and see if its stuck, but I dont think so..
