Default lt80 holeshot question

Just bought my son a 02 lt80 and wanted to put new tires and wheels on it but I keep hearing about broken cases in every post. I really wanted to put holeshot mxr6s on it, 19-6-10 on 10x5 douglas .125 front and 18x10x8 on 8x7 douglas .125 rear. Everyone says thats to much tire for it? Why? The stocks are taller and I can almost guarantee that aluminum .125 wheels and 2ply mx tires way less than the stock steel wheels and dunlops. Whats the issue? The atv will never be raced I just love the look of the mx tires, I have them on my kfx450 and theyre great. It will deffinantly give his lt80a mean look with the black plastics and monster graphics I just ordered;-) opinions please

Welcome to the forums.
Tire options are minimal it seems. Either stock width or the wider tires like mentioned above.
I have a machine here now with the 10" wide tires. It's just not right. I think if you could see it, you'd agree.
If I may, I'd get the 8.5 wide tires.
I sold a machine earlier this year with the fronts you mentioned and the 8.5 rears. Looks much better than the 10's IMO.
It really is a nice tire/wheel combo you're looking at.

Couldnt find any 18x8.5x8 rears, I did find 18x8x8 that will look good. So the 19x6x10 front and 18x8x8 rear should work fine? Will I need to keep a set of spare cases laying around running these tires? My son will only be 4 next month and I have the the throttle screw almost all the way in since hes just learning, so its not being ridden hard at all. He just wants it to look like daddys kfx

Ya, 8's is what I meant.
They will be fine for when your 4 year old is big enough to ride a LT80 safely.....*cough*
How about finding him a nice 50cc machine that he can fit on and have fun riding.

I thought about it but I wanted something he can grow into. Not a 50 he would use for a few months and get bored with. He reaches all the brakes easily and I have the screw limiting the speed to around 7mph. Thats barely faster than a fully charged powerwheels. I always make sure he waers a helmet and im always right beside him.
