Well I fixed the starting problem with my Son's DS50 insalled manual choke. Now after many rides it has no power. When first running will move, but has lack of power. After about 10 minutes the quad will not move. I pickup the rear and give it gas the tires move, but when the tires are touching the ground will not go. Any ideas?????
I am not sure what year you have so I will assume it is a two stroke..I would do a compression check..Should be at least 90PSI....If that passes is the exhaust tip or muffler plugged up with carbon?..Are you sure the choke is shutting off ok? What colour is the spark plug?
It may also be in the clutches or belt..IF the motor checks out pull the side cover off and take a look..
First things first, clean the carb, let's eliminate the possibility of a plugged jet.
Pipe plugged?

Mine is doing the same thing. I have put a new cdi box, new carb checked pipe, took out spark arrestor, put new coil pack, new plug, new gas and oil. It still does it. It idles great but once you give it gas it acts like it has very little throttle and it cuts out like it is at a rev limiter. It don't even have enough power to pull off. but you pick the back end up and the tires will turn but not fast.
Mine is having the same problem with no power!! I am going to pull it apart tomorrow and I will re post an update of what I discover either bad or good.
