Default Bombardier DS50 replacement carb recommendations

Hello everyone,

I picked up an 2002 DS50 that was sitting for a few years. The carb was pretty bad, pitted and varnish. I got it running again but the carb has issues. I dont want to mess with trying to rebuild it and I also want to get rid of the oil injection. I found a replacement online with new reeds, cable, air cleaner for a good price. The carb is a 21mm oko carb. Would this be too big for a stock 50, or will she run even better?

That might be overkill since you don't have a tuned pipe on it, throttle response would be very poor.
Since your stock engine doesn't require a larger carb it won't run right with one... (compression ratio, pipe, porting, etc)
If it were mine, I'd disassemble the carb and dip it to remove the varnish, then reassemble and it's will be fine.
Or replace with a used carb. Same as the 90's, find one on Ebay for an Eton or Polaris 50, or 90cc.

That's what I figured.. I put some gumout in with the gas and it's running a little better now. The carb leaks a bit and the electric choke isn't working so it's a little choppy when cold but livens up after a few minutes. I'm probably going to end up putting in a big bore kit with a new carb and other tweaks since the kids already want it to go faster. Especially my youngest daughter (she drives like her mother )
