LT80 Mods

Looking for a little help here. I really want to give my daughters LT80 more power for the sand and desert rides. She rides aggressive but just doesn't always have the power she needs. This is what I plan on doing and maybe you guys can steer me in the right direction.

Mill Head 0.030
Clutch Mod (front and rear). need HELP
13T front sprocket, 26T rear sprocket and 428 chain.
Boyesen reeds.
Uni Air filter
Trinity pipe(because I found one cheap).
Douglas 8x5 front 8x6 rear on Ground Busters
Rear wheel spacers
Front susp.????

Wanted to see if anyone has some detail instruction on the Clutch Mod (LT80), possibily with pic's. Not sure what or how I want to do the front suspension and shocks. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

I don't know if it will help, but you may want to look at my post titled "lt80 rear clutch removal". There are some detail explanations from Mr. LT80. I just broke into mine over the weekend and it sure looked like nobody had ever cracked it open before. It was very tuff getting in it the first time around. After that it's gravy! You could try looking at the assembly drawings you can find on most of the parts websites. Look at drawings transmission(1) and transmission(2). They are not great, but will help to clue you in. I do not have a service manual and sure wished I did about now, so you may want to order that up. When I break mine open again I plan to take pics, but that won't be for a while since I still need to order up the parts I need (front clutch is shot). All in all I think the clutch mods as suggested by LT80 are fairly simple if you are use to turning a wrench. Good luck and tell us how it goes!

Thanks for the advise. Hope I'm going in the right direction. Can't afford to waste any money these days. I'm handy with the wrench but my Dad is the true mechanic. I'll hunt down a service manual and plan on working on the LT when he is down from Arizon. I'll keep you all informed of the progress.

I want to do the same basic engine mods you do. The only thing that may not happen is the exhaust. Where did you find a trinity pipe cheap? That is the one thing I am lacking. As far as tires and suspension, I think I will put new rubber on it and leave that crappy suspension alone. Too much money to upgrade that for me. unless you found shocks cheap too???

The Trinity shop is here in my home town. Scratch and ding sale. Hoping to find one for my sons Blaster. I hear you on the suspension. You can drop a lot of dough in that but sometimes she has that bobble head going from all the cross rut. Suspension will be last if I even do it.
