Default E-Ton DXL 90 Running Problem

Hey guys, could use a little help if possible. In 2007 I sold my '01 E-Ton Serria DXL 90 to my brother in law. Has worked fine until a couple weeks ago. It starts and idle's fine but within a minute or two after taking off it gets sluggish and slows to a stop and dies. It will restart with no problem. If you fiddle with the throttle when its starts to get sluggish sometimes it comes out of it. Took the carb apart and cleaned and reset everything back by the book specs with no help. Any ideas.
Thanks

Try looking at the exhaust spark arrestor, they tend to get gooked up and plug, hence restricting exhaust flow causing it to not rev up.

This model does not have a spark arrestor. The exhaust hole is only about the size of an adults ring finger. It is not stopped up as far as I could see in there either.

Can you post a picture of the end of the muffler?

Another thing might be the restricted fuel flow, carb is slowly using the fuel in the float bowl faster than it can get refilled. Cause by a clogged fuel filter or petcock, or restricted gas cap vent / hose.

One is to remove the gas line from the carb and turn on the gas, see how much it flows.
Second is to run it with the gas cap off when it starts running out of power...

it could also possibly be a kill switch starting to fail and vibrations cure it and kill it the same but could go either way which explains the running through it then dieing the other times
