Guy at the eton dealer said the cylinder was was "almost like new" and that it was basically the same as the new one,he had sitting next to it. he looked up the specs, and then measured both jugs(after honing mine). Told me not to waste my money, it was nowhere near the max wear. That was good enough for me. I'll still check when we put it together though. Glad I decided to take it in to have them look at it. saved me 100 bucks or so.

Figured I'd give an update. Got it back together a couple weeks ago. Runs great. Still need info on the rev limiter on this quad. Can't find any real info. It's a 2000. The cdi has no green wire to cut? Anyone know if there is a rev limiter of some sort on this?

I havnt heard of a Chinese quad that you could just cut a wire and get higher revs...There are a few people that have bought higher rev CDI's and gotten that result..i have one on my Yamoto 150...it gained about 5-6 mph with it..

This is a 2000 Eton txl 50. I have read on here that the newer ones have a green wire on the back of the cdi that limits the rpm range. Our 2000 does not have this...

That's why I asked here again

I don't think your hitting a rev limiter.
So what's the compression now?

To be honest I didn't check it. It has way more power then it did. Night and day difference. No bogging and it can go right up hills now, even with me on it.
