eton viper 90r no reverse

is there any info on changing out the shift motor on the eton 90r two-stroke.My sons won't shift into reverse but works fine in neutral and forward.I have calibrated it, checked the contacts and they work.

I;ve heard that if your idle isn't set right, you won't be able to put it in reverse
