Ok, got the 80 CDI today..... looks like the 50 has more wires than the 80 coming out of the cdi box. I have know problem hard wiring these together but what do I do with the other two wires????

the 50 CDI has two wires that the 80 CDI does not have. Sb (sky blue) and G/Y (green/yellow) these are not needed. just cap them off with a wire nut or something. apparently for extra safety the 50 CDI uses these. the neutral switch and rear brake switch will still keep the 50 from starting if one or the other is not active. Hey Putter700r,

I think I remember seeing that you did the clutch ball mod. Did this help with take off?

Great I think I'll do that this weekend when I put the cdi in. Do you have the part numbers for the jets? I think I'm supposed to change to an 80 and a 12.5. Is that correct?

i did some reserch and found that some of the numbers that i found quoted were wrong.
i crossed referenced the parts from my '04 50 to my '04 80.

part# 2HX-14112-35-00, valve,throttle 1 is correct. it is out of the 80.
stock 50# is 5yf-14112-30-00

part# 36B-2625H-00 should have been 3gB-2625H-00-00, arm,throttle. this also from an 80.
stock 50# is 5yf-2625h-00-00

based on these two, i'm guessing the maine nozzle is also from the 80

the part# 2HX-14141-78-00 should have been 4em-14141-78-00 nozzle,main.this also from an 80.

as for the jets, the stock 80 jets:

pilot #12.5
main #76.3

i'll check and see if i have the part# at work tomrrow. i still have to do the jets my self

rraa497,

if your looking for a #80 jet then go to one of the ATV parts websites (I use www.worldofcycles.com) and select 1992 yamaha badger and look for the intake/carburater parts ordering page. the main jet on a 1992 badger was a #80. the new Raptor 80 comes with a #76.3. by the way I have found that some of the parts websites are priced better than a local dealer and only take a few days to get the parts shipped. alot oftimes the dealer
has to order the part and it takes some time also.
