Default E-ton Viper 90 VS. Polaris Predator 90

Yes I see that. As I said before, either quad will work well, I did not know the Polaris had an electronic throttle if you do go with the Polaris give us an update and let us know your thoughts on it.

Good Luck

I dont know about you guys, but its really hard to give a peice of advice without knowing a couple key items..
How old is he?
How tall?
Weight?
What is his driving skill?

I know you are looking at these 2 specific models, but the question arrises on whether or not the 90 models you are asking about are right for his abilitys, skills, and size. If the 90 SUNL is to small, Then why would a 90 ETON be a bigger size? Does his riding ability, size, and growth posibly dictate for a larger quad like the Viper 150 ETON instead? If its any help, look at my signature at what my wife drives, and see if the info there might dictate the larger quad. Looking at your pics, your son appears to be about 4'4" tall, and about 80lbs and somewhere around 13 years old. His riding ability, seeing how his quad isnt all banged up, and in one peice, looks to be on par for something that could use a larger upgrade. If you are worried about speed, just dial back the throttle limiter and see what happens.

Hello, I can tell you I vote for the Predator 90! I have a 50 and a 90 and have only had to replace battery on 50 and a stator on the 90. My daughter races a 90 and has gone through 80 races just this season and has not had one DNF (Did not finish) because of mechanical issues. There isn't one other quad she raced against that could say the same thing. (All different brands.)

You have to maintain the machine by doing things such as changing the oil & spark plug, tighten the chain and check for loose bolts. Keep the air filter clean and replace wear parts when they start to wear out (such as chain and piston and rings.) Remember though. My daughter races 2-3+ times every weekend, so we have higher maintenance than someone who just leisure rides, but it is still important to maintain the machine!

Our Polaris machines have been great! Plus, don't forget that the 90's have reverse!

LaPurr, You have A keen eye on size and weight. However he is only 8. I know what the law say's but these law's are made up by peaple that know nothing about quad's or each child's ability. My grandson has been riding sence 4 year's of age. The E-ton is larger in size then his son-L 90. The problem come's in on his height. His knee's sit to high for safe control of this quad. The Polaris sit's even higher then the E-ton. I am thinking with his expearience that he could handle the Polaris or E-ton and have room to still grow into it. What do you think? The law maker's do not take into consideration that kid's are of different sizes and ability's

how about the honda trx 90? i just bought one for my 7 year old at $2549.00 otd at bartlesville cycle sports in oklahoma. 07 model with the flames the regular one is $50.00 cheaper i think. no reverse or lights which at that price it should but he has a sunl 90 mini that wouldnt go in the sand, this one does. he has had it past the floor boards in water and keeps going, no stator problems like the polaris has. it is a 4 speed shift not fully auto like the others, but kids learn pretty quick..

lapurr,
Its not so much the difference in cc but the actual physical size between the sunl90 and the pred90. The sunl is made pretty small with a 90cc 4 stroke while the pred is alot bigger with a 2 stroke 90cc motor.

Middleaged,
Have you looked at the Unison dc90? My son is 8yo and is pretty tall. It fits him very well with room to grow. Yes it is 2 stroke but very simple and low maintenance. The dc90 is made by the same company that makes the pred so they are almost identical except for the plastics and a few Polaris add ons but alot less money. The dc90 cost about 1600. The Polaris 90 is 2300. Same frame and motor.

Thank's for everyone's comment's, I went ahead and took the plunge today and bought the Preator 90. Turn's out it is A 2 stroke. And has A cable throtle. Call me A softy but my grandson is really into the movie Preator. And I really do like some of the other feature's that come with it. As well as it's size. I feel it will last him longer, as he growes like A weed. Thank's again for the reply's.

Great to hear. I know your Grandson will love it!!

Bartlesville Cycle does have some good prices. We bought our son his '06 Predator 90 from there for $2099 otd. We were looking at the Pred and the TRX but with the Pred was almost $500 cheaper plus having reverse and lights we decided on the Predator. So far we have had 0 problems and he loves it. Have taken it to the dunes with great success.

I also have a deposit down on the new KTM 525 Outlaw at Bartlesville Cycle. They still have one coming in that has not been spoken for yet!
