Default 04-05 Yamaha Raptor 50

I have spent the last two days reading 3 years of posts, I have to say the amount of knowledge is incredible!!! I was wondering if anyone had access to a manual for a 2007 Raptor 50? I saw a later post with a link to a manual, but the link was not active anymore....Thank you in advance!!!

Wow, this thread has grown to several pages.. I have not checked this site in quite some time.

I have a new problem that popped up just a few minutes ago with our 2005 Raptor 50.

No spark..... And yes the switch was set to run and the key was on...lol Also, the battery is only a few months old and spins the engine over very quickly. All fuses still in tact.

I thought for sure it was the spark plug, as it's never been changed since we bought the ATV new in 2004. A new plug did not cure a thing. I thought next that the Procom CDI had failed. I put the OEM CDI back in and still no spark. My next idea was to check the resistance on the coil then spark plug cap and wire.

The problem with that is that my volt meter seems to have grown legs. I guess I'll need to buy a new volt meter this week.

It's got to be the coil or plug wire related from here. Does any one think otherwise?

Give me your thoughts.. Thanks

----------------------------------------------------------

Edit.. Problem solved. The orange coil wire had been somehow badly pinched? Random stick or rock hit? Who knows.. I spliced this out and all is good again.

did the carb slide, throttle fix,and cdi box. hauls where it always pooped out,but what to do about sluggish takeoff? The cdi box from raptor80racing.com is well worth the money

grampadino,

The Raptor 50 is basically stuck in 2nd gear so its sluggish at the start. however, there are 8 steel balls in the auto clutch. remove the clutch plates and take out 4 of them. this allows the motor to rev higher before the clutch fully engages giving better takeoff.
