still converts to $4200 Cdn, maybe a little less. Could be the same outfit that manufactures them. How's the Kasea? The MFC is also a twin cylinder 250. I really didn't care much for the MFC 250.

I read a magazine shootout of the 250s.They didn't like the kasea much.Said it had the worst suspension and the power was very peaky and had to really be revved. This is only a magazine review though so take it with a grain of salt. They did say that kasea was working on the suspension and that it might be fixed in the near future.Apparently they were struggling with getting the proper wieght of oil in the shocks. They were either too stiff or not stiff enough depending on the oil in them.

ya, it's one thing to take a chance on kids stuff for $2000-2500, but I refuse to dump $4000-5000 on a 250, non-4x4, off-shore. just ain't gonna happen for me.they're gonna need several years of proven reliability before I even think about them.

Default Heard of MFC (MOTORIZED FUN CO)?

My daughter was given a MFC Hawk 50. Its a nice little quad, but it lacks low end power. it will pretty much only run on pavement and fairly flat ground. We took her out to and actual quad trail, but I had to push the quad to get it to move every twenty feet or so because it lacked the power to get over some of the bigger ruts.

I called the MFC company to see if they sell any after market parts for this bike and they said no. I have called some of the other bike dealers around the area to see if there is any other brand that might fit the MFC quads, and none of them knew. So my question is, has any one out there figured out what major brand MFC coppied (I hope that wasn't a bad thing to say.....if so I appologize). All of the dealers have told me I just need to figure out what brand they modeled there quads after then we could get some after market parts to help with the lack of power. Any help would be greatly appreciated

hey super, we have a 50 cc 2 stroke and it goes just about anywhere. it sounds like you might have low compresion or a clutch or belt problem. I woud look at these before any aftermarket stuff.

is this a 2 stroke or 4 stroke never really cared for the 4 stroke 50's there to small, my weed wacker has more power.

we need a pick to see who mfc compares to or who it looks like.

Unfortunatly it is a four stroke. I will try to figure out how to get a picture posted in the next day or two. My daughter has riden it quite a bit more since the first post and the situation is looking a little different now. Once the quad gets running it has tons of power and will climb anything you put in front of it until the tires lose traction. But the problem is the initial start. There is nothing there. if she is on any kind of hill (or even little bump) it just wont move at all.
Now, I am new to the world of quads so I dont really know, but is it normal for a quad to be so weak on the low end? And is something wrong with the quad or could of it just been built with no low end? Would a new pipe or air filter system or plugs help get the thing moving at all? Also quads run on higher octane, so if the last owner had put regular 87 octane in it could this be effecting its lack of low end?
Thanks for the help.
