Default Is it possible to upgrade the suspension to increase weight capacity?

My father is handicapped and needs something to get around his big undeveloped (no grass and uneven) backyard. He has a scooter but it isn't designed for undeveloped south Texas land. The only problem is that the ramp leading off the back deck is 3 feet wide, hardly big enough for a full sized ATV. I was looking for medium sized ATV and they all have a weight capacity of 200 lbs. My father is rather large and may weigh closer to 250+ lbs. Is there anyway to upgrade the suspension to allow the weight capacity to increase or are there other factors that decide the weight capacity of an ATV, such as the frame?

Adults ride mini quads all the time with no problems.
1/2 of the motor builds I do now days are for adult pit bikes.
I rode LT80's when I was 285 pounds.
Find a nice tiawanese mini with a CVT and stick some wheel spacers on it and he'll be set for some cruisin.
