Default Penland email?

So Penland's big gun exhaust is the same as the manufactured one? I was under the impression that it was a modification of the manufactured one? Does anyone know about the front spring kit that he sales? Is it the same as the Progressive front springs? What about the cam shaft is that custom made or is it from another manufacturer?

Thanks for the info!

Mike Penlands exhaust is NOT the same as the stock Big Gun. Mike's is built sturdier, and is a bit quieter. While the standard Bug Gun uses 6 rivets (the ones we hear about falling apart), Mike's uses 12. His silencer also uses more packing to quiet it down some.

Think about this, Mike's system is uses by GNCC racers, all of which are dominant in their class. The Penland Big Gun is, in my opinion, the best out there for the 650. I may be a little biased, but I think it is true. I talk to Mike from time to time, and even get to ride with him and his racing partners. Give Mike a call and he will answer any and all questions you guys have.

Also, as for the HMF, it is a half system, Mike's is a full.

Sean, don't want to argue, but want some more answers. I paid $400 for a Mike Penland Signature Series exhaust, and now I'm finding out that I could have bought a better (don't care about quieter) exhaust direct from Mike for less $???? How could this be? I checked mine and I only have six rivets ( I assume your talking about where the muffler meets the headpipes?). Does Mike modify these himself? If they are falling apart, why would he allow BigGun to use his name?

I have been assured that with proper maintenance, this exhaust will last a long time. But want more assurance!!!
