bayou 220?
I have the same carb I believe on my ATV. Its a 1991 Kawasaki bayau 220. I rebuilt the carburetor and it is not running too well. i have all the parts breakdown, so I know its back together right. It starts right up and idles ok, but will not run well when you ride it. I think my float might be out of adjustment. Does anyone know what the adjustment is supposed to be on this? I can not find the specs. PLEASE someone help! thanks

Don't forget about compression. An engine will start and run if it has air, fuel, spark and compression. Remove any of the four and it will quit.
Have the valves ever been adjusted? Valves that are too far out of adjustment will produce weak compression in a cold engine. Once they warm up and the metal expands to take up the slack the engine starts and runs much easier.
Most of the other problems that can keep an engine from starting aren't as likely to improve by simply cranking the engine for five minutes or so. However, loose valves would tighten up somewhat from so much ignition heat and movement.
