Kawasaki KLT 250 intermittent spark
Hey guys,
I recently picked up a non running 85 KLT 250 for free. The ignition switch on the bars was missing, but I have hooked up the wires according to the diagram. After cleaning out carb it runs great, except....
I get very limited spark when cranking the engine over. Coil voltage drops to about 10-11 volts.
However, when i do get spark, it will jump a 1/4 inch gap. And when it starts, it runs perfectly.
Getting frustrated, because sometimes it wont get any spark at all. I also have a parts machine, so i switched CDI's, no difference. Almost seems like a bad ground issue. But it runs so well when running.
Any ideas?? My first Kawa, im a honda/yamaha man mostly.
Thanks a bunch!!
