Default Kawasaki Power Steering ATV for 2011

We have a new article up on the site regarding rumored Kawasaki Power Steering plans for their 2011 ATVs.

Of course this isn’t to suggest that power steering hasn’t been possible, but unlike Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Polaris, and Arctic Cat, until now Kawasaki devotees have been limited to aftermarket kits from companies like ATR Power Sports for the Teryx and Mule.

I,ll be excited about Power steering the day a manufacturer can make it for much less than a $1000 option.

Its not a $1000 option to me. When a 750KQ with no PS cost as much as a 500KQ with PS, that sound very odd to me.

Its like the first Electric Car coming out now ,they cost so much more than the gas powered cars that there no way to get your gas savings back.
ATV PS should be more like a $400 option at most, because for $1000 you can get nice aftermarket tires, rims and a winch for that much, or a much more powerful ATV without PS.

So my vote is mixed.
$400 Powersteering I vote, OK,I guess.
$1000 Powersteering I vote, you have to be nuts.

I was wondering if they would ever jump on the bandwagon.

On a Grizz 700its a $850.00 option and on a Grizz 450 I think its a $600.00 option well worth its weight in gold! Kawi is only 4 years late to the party and I am willing to bet it is similar if not the same as the Yamaha unit!

Especially where they have a locker in the Big Red. No stretch to say it would be easy for Honda to do this. Some say it's not a big deal, but I can think of about a 1/2 dozen times that little extra bit of traction got me out of some nasty stuff.

For those people ,one look at this video YouTube - Honda Rubicon will tell them how bad 3x4 is vs true AWD. That situation would be a breeze with a true AWD ATV.

Not sure where you get your info?

On the newest Suzuki 750, it's a $450 option.
On the newest Grizzly 700, it's a $600 option.

A 500 King with EPS is $600 less than a 750 non-EPS, and strangely enough, the new 500 King with EPS in camo is $700 less than the 750 non-EPS.

I'm sure option price on the Kawi's will come down in a year or two... and congrats to the Kawi fans. The EPS is a sweet option.

Not at our Suzuki dealership. The 750KQ with no PS cost as much as a 500KQ with PS, they even have them parked side by side on the show room floor.

Same at our Polaris dealer the XP550 without PS is almost $1000 more than a XP550 without.
