Default Iridium Spark PLugs

2007 650i Brute Force

From what i can gather replacement spark plugs are NGK CR7E.

whats all the Hype about Iridium plugs, are they worth looking into?

The bike seems to run fine with the plugs that are in it now but after ~4200km it is prob something i should get around to changing . . .

any thoughts?

CR7E is just fine. Those rare earth Iridium is for rather higher revving motorcycle engines (upto 16,000 rpm) which might see the benefit. The BF engines barely reaches over 6,000 rpm. The only actual difference you may feel is your lighter wallet.

We just had a big discussion in the sportbike forums on those plugs. Save your money.

If you want longer lasting, check out platinum tipped plugs - NGK CR7EK, little more than copper but cheaper than irridium.
