A friend of mine is going to buy a 2000 300 2 wheel drive Prairie. How are these machines? he is new to ATVing and I know little about Kawasaki quads. But what I have heard has been good. There is a dealer but Honda and Polaris seem to be what everyone buys and argues over which is better. While probably the guys with the Kawasaki's are out riding

I just got a 2000 Prairie 300 2x4. My main purpose for it will be to use it as a pit vehicle at the drag races (my boyfriend and I both travel the southeast racing), but when we got it home today we couldn't resist taking it in the woods. It was great... we were VERY impressed with the suspension (ride and comfort), as well as the torque of this ATV. I suppose you could pay a lot more and get a little more, but this is a LOT of ATV for the money (we paid $4299). I think that, especially for a beginner, it makes a great starting point.

They bought the Prairie and they really like it allot. I agree that you could pay allot more and get not much more of an ATV.

I'm glad they were pleased with their purchase. We sure were!

He wishes now he might have sprung for the 4 wheel drive. Only becuase mine is 4 wheel drive and he has to use it harder to follow me around in the muck. but like i told him honestly we are kind of foolish to be riding in mud and water up to the racks LOL
