I live in Missouri and as long as you use a rifle tag, you can use a compound bow, blackpowder rifle, long bow, pistol, and i think even crossbow. The caliber dont matter as long as it is a single projectile and a centerfire. Not that i recomend it but just to see if it would, i shot a doe in the head with my .204 rifle at 275 yards. The bullet is too small to make it through but it made it in and she dropped, i would NEVER have tried this if i only had a lung heart shot. I doubt the bullet would penatrate deep enough. sorry for the much longer than needed post, got caught in the moment.

Check the regulations. They probably have them on the DNR or conservation website.
