No more than half throtle the first 10 HOURS (not miles), then easy riding the next 10 HOURS. During the first 2 hrs, don't ride more than 15 minutes at a time and let the engine cool between rides. Gradually, you can increase the length of the ride, but always let the engine cool between rides.

So far I love the electric shifting. It is much easier and quicker than foot shifting. It is very easy to get used to. The only problem I had was when my brother left in 5th gear when he turned the quad off, and I couldn't get back into neutral to start it. To fix this I had to shake the bike and downshift. There is also an auxillary shifter on the quad if the ES is not shifting. The good thing about the ES version is that it does not rely on the battery, which I thought it did. Other than that I love my Rancher ES. This is the first Honda (Quad) I have owned and so far I love it!!!!!!!
