It's new z400 vs raptor vs 400ex? I do alot of jumping and climb some pretty big hills. And i want something fast. Are the 02 raptors better than the 01's. I'm not sure about the new z400 don't know how reliable. The 400ex is really reliable.

the '02 raptor has the gearbox problem fixed. also the axel is stronger, i'd get the raptor, it's a bigger motor, so it has more hidden power. the 400EX is a great trail ridder, and MX quad, but is down on power compared to the rest

I think you should get the raptor because it has alot of power, and you can get even more with just a pipe. I have a question also. I am looking to buy a 400ex, but should I wait for the crf450 or yamaha yz 450 quad, or just go ahead and get a 400ex?

Get the 400ex, there's a lot of them used for around 3000-4500$. There is also alot of highly modified 400ex's for around the same price. You will save a lot of money that way.

the 400ex may not be the fastest of the bunch but it is the most reliable and will run 4-ever but.....if you are not a big fan of hondas then i'd go with the raptor, with its new gear box all of the problems from 01 are fixed. The only reson i dont reconend the z-400 is you said u climbed some hill and i've heard the z-400 dusn't have much low end (under statment)

Curious why you would not consider the C'dale unless price is an issue. It's by far the best stock quad available, will out run the Raptor, 400EX, Z400, DS650, etc., etc. Also has all the latest technology, EFI, aluminum frame, Ohlin shocks, ITP wheels and Holeshot tires, and best customer service in the industry!!

If you have to go out and by something in the next few weeks I would go and get the Suzuki. The Suz with a few mods from what I read gets rid of the low end problem if there is one to begin with. The Raptor costs to much and you don't need that much engine. The Honda is a very good quad, but dated. There are some very good used ones out there at some very good prices. The C-dale is a very good quad, but again the price is high.
If you can wait there is going to be released the new Predator is a few weeks maybe. Also, Honda is going to have to release something soon because of a drop in sales(?), but who knows when this release will happen. And maybe Yamaha (YZF450F) will have something this fall.

The only way you will find a C'dale at the price of a new 400EX is to get a used one. It's more money because it's twice the quad the 400EX is!!

This is a no brainer, Honda 400EX! Check factory replacement parts for the other sport bikes. You can replace the body on a 400EX for less than any of the others front fenders. A-Arms on the 400EX are under $68.00. Theres are all over $100.00. Check the price of there frames as to the price of the Honda's. (Caution, make shure you are sitting down).
But last thing to think of, you see more old Honda"s on the trail than anything else.
