My buddy is looking into buying a Rubi500. He will be using it mostly for hunting and utility work, a lot of pulling/heavy loads at low speed. Most of his trail/peasure ridding is "low speed" 10-30klm/hr with fairly heavy loads (camping supplies). He likes automatic's so his other choices would be belt drives which he does not like. So how about it, is the Rub500 a good choice for this application??????? MJSTX

He wont regret it, they have plenty of power when u need it, and when you put it in low they will pull anything if you can get traction.

We use ours basically the same as your friend would be using his. We don't hunt but we ride double and carry tons of gear. All together we carry around 400 pounds all the time. It does a greast job of handling the load and the trans is great. 1900 miles and not a single problem. Maint is the secret.

For what it's worth....I use my rubicon to haul gravel and water tanks @ 1000 - 1400 pounds per load. No problems, it's been a good investment for me.
