Dune Addict, I agree with you, give us a modern two stroke with all the new technology. I would buy one too! Since we cant have one, lets get behind the four strokers and try to get them up to where they need to be. With technology we can do it.

I agree guys, the technology has came a long way. I can't help but think about rebuild costs (Especially with my luck) of all those overhead cams, titanium valves, etc. etc.

2 strokers have very few moving parts.

The only way I can support and encourage future 2 stroke technology development, is to NOT buy a 4 stroker.
Give us Horsepower freaks a quad with a minimum of 75+ HP (At rear wheels), then I'm in!

I was just looking over some timeslips from the dragstrip on the Cannondale forum and I noticed a race between a stock Cannondale and a stock YZ250. The 1/8 mile times were 9.44 for the YZ and 9.47 for the dale. The Dale had a 2.07 60 foot time and the YZ had a 2.14 60 foot. And I think we all know the Dale outweights the YZ by quite a bit. I don't see a problem with a Dale making mid to high 40s in horsepower reliably and I would imagine the engine is capable of more in modified form. I think they are getting high 40s by remapping and adding a slipon. I also don't see the 2 strokes being a big threat in the power wars anymore, especially if your talking about a quad that is driveable for all types of riding. The 4 strokes are holding their own in moto X and Super X and if Ricky was on a 450F he would still be winning. The modified 2 smokes have their place in the sand drags but the 4 strokes are catching up there also. And I have yet to see a Banshee win any of the local quad races unless it's a drag race. The modified 400EX's take them out every time on the local MX tracks and I'm not talking about race chassis quads I'm talking about stock 400EX chassis's with add-on accessories and modified engines.

i would really care for a bigger EX, but a more advanced 400 maybe, like DOHC. Maybe with a 450...
