Actualy plastic does have it's advantages, when dented it pops back into place unlike metal, it weighs less, wont rust, and is cheaper to replace. I'd only use plastic for an engine skid, using it under differentials is just asking for trouble.

Umm...the 400EX has a plastic engine skid...so what's your point?? What is the meaning of you post?? Oh wait, I know. You don't like having the name 'TrailBlazer' next to your handle; so in order to become a 'Pro Rider' you post worthless, uninformative topics like this one. Well done.

I riding buddy of mine with a Raptor cracked his plastic skids the
first day he rode it, he then replace them with the DG Baja skid plates, but his chain is rubbing the new swingarm skid-plate, I don't know what he did wrong installing that thing.

At least the shifter handle screws don't vibrate out of a Yamaha as you trailer it home from the dealership.

Ohh PLEEEEASE!!!!!! Lets not get into the
Yamaha/Honda quality discussion again....

(back-atcha, at least Hondas dont backfire and blow the air filter off without the rider knowing and possible cousing major damage, at least Hondas rear axles dont break, at least Hondas dont come with WEAK tie rod ends, at least Hondas arent having transmission/shifting troubles) Shall we continue all day?

I have a plastic armordillo skid-plate on my recon and you could take a sledge hammer to it. Its not gonna crack.
