Do you like an auto-clutch? If so, this would be a good choice. There is another auto-clutch machine out.... Kawasaki Lakota Sport, 300cc. The reviews say that the Honda is a better choice, and its a little less money.
If you don't have any problems with a clutch, (you feel comfortable using one), you might consider spending the money on the 300EX. You will not outgrow it as fast, it has more power, is sportier.

To tell you the truth, NO!! I think that they kind of suck but if you want an auto-clutch than it is probably the way to go. If not than I would buy something more like a blaster or 300EX,or Mojave. I own a mojave and they are pretty fun, even though I want a 2-stroke. Just because you are a beginner does not mean that you have to buy a beginner quad. My first dirtbike was a CR250 which I bought last year and I'm only 14. So go borrow a friends quad with a clutch, learn how to use it and then go test ride the quads you are interested in to se what you like
