Default rubicon troubles

I got a 2007 rubicon thats showing a code six. It will take of and run fine for a min than it shifts itself to first gear and stays there. It also sputters in reverse. I just changed the angle sensor but it didnt do any good. any suggestions?

There are always rev limiters, to prevent you from killing yourself in reverse! Guessing that is what the sputter is.

The sputtering in reverse is part of limp mode.

Ok I primed the angle sensor and that got rid of the sputter and the code. Unfortunitly the problems not totally fixed its runnin great but it wont down shift until you come to a stop. So it will run through the gears just fine until it gets to high then if u go up a hill it wont down shift. I have to come to a total stop than it will shift to 1rst. If I put it in esp I can manually shift with no problems. Any advice would be appriciated. thanks

a rubicon doesnt have any gears, other than forward and reverse. it is an infinitely variable hydromechanical transmission.

this thread wasnt started by colt it was started by riverrat84 and yes i know its got 5 ratios and if I could afford to take it to a shop it would be there. I know I aint know expert but im prety good with a wrench im just trying to figure out what the the problem could be so i can fix it if you aint here to help there aint no need to reply I dont go around bashin your threads I expect the same courtesy. I fixed the sputter in reverse and got rid of the code but it still aint down shiftin unless you come to total stop or shift it manually in esp. If anyone has some good advice and not highschool bs it would greatly be appriciated!!
