river rat i did not mean anything to you i said it to colt because he was accusing someone that they didnt know rubis , when they were stating correct info. a rubicon does have 5 speeds but they are ratios, that is why the shift seems almost no existent were as a rincon bucks a bit during its shifts and are much more noticeable i am sure you all probually know this already. colt2245p i have a question for you, what is a better quad your sp500 or your rubicon. i was stuck between them when i bought my rubicon

for use as a utility bike the honda is the better machine for farm/houshold chores....as far as riding on a 40 or fifty mile ride the popo is much better. it runs better it handles the trails better and doesn get stuck in the mud holes as easy......as far as the rubi trans goes it is a variable speed drive using hyraulics. the engine drives a piston pump which pushes oil agianst another set of pistons which are on a swash plate connected to the output shaft therefore giving infinate drive ratios. in esp mode the swash plate stops at predetermined outputs therfore giving you gears in a sense....
