Default Honda 300 Choke

The previous owner of my Honda 300 broke the choke off the carberator. Instead of fixing it he filled the choke hole with silicone. I have purchased a new choke kit and and would like to know if it will be a challenge to remove the silicone. Does anybody have any suggestions (chemicals) to make the job easier?

I would remove all I could with a pick or screwdriver and try carb cleaner. It might loosen the silicone.

remove all the choke assembly and install a little bigger pilot. just a suggestion, alot of people do it. i did on my 300 and 400 and never have any problems starting, even in the cold.
