Unhappy Need Help with Honda Rancher 400

My 2005 Honda Rancher AT has a big problem. It will work well untill it gets up to about 28 mph, then it revs up really high but only gets up to 34-35mph. It's acting like it can't hit the next gear. Does anyone else have this problem or know what it is, or anything about it? I'd love some help if you have it email me nolankelly76@gmail.com

I've taken it to yamaha of beaufort and yamaha/Honda of Savannah and they both told me it was fixed, charged me for something they did, and it wasn't fixed at all. Yamaha of beaufort charged me $600 for a clutch rebuild

It sounds like your Hondamatic transmission to me. The question I have is, does it do it in both auto and es mode or just one of the modes?

Maybe, beaufort yamaha had my atv laid out taken apart and said that they couldn't find the problem, but they aren't very fluent because they left screws out of the plastics all over the palce and returned it to me without them. It does this in ESP and manual

do u have a blinking code on ur display?
also check your wiring up underneath your handlebars the shifting wiring is in there and sometimes gets loose and will lose connection w/ the tranny.

Sorry I made a mistake the numbers on the left bottom corner were saying hoe many hours the atv had been ridden. So no there is no code flashing.

The hondamatic will act up like that if it is low on oil. To get an accurate reading the machine has to idle for 3-4 minutes, then let it sit for about 2. Make sure the oil is at the top of the range w/o screwing the dipstick in.

Beyond that, I think there's an oil pressure check that can be done.

The repair shop replaced the oil, and it has been doing this for a few years. I don't think that it's a low oil level but I don't know about the oil pressure test.
