Default To jet or not to jet!!!

I have been riding my 300 in the river the last few times I have went out. My air box did not have a lid on it and it was jetted that way. The question that I have is I put a new airbox with a lid on, how do I know if I need to rejet the carb. Thanks for the help.

you most likely will because your decreasing the air flow with the lid on even tho its not by much it could still run to lean , hot, or whatever...

If it is one of the aftermarket filtered lids, you probably won't need to touch the jetting. A new stock lid would almost certainly require leaner carb settings.

Just the opposite! It will run RICH with the lid on not lean, and carbon up your plug and combistion chamber. This will not permanently damage the engine, but it will run crappy.

Get one of the open airbox lids that have a water repelent cover!
