You can get the tool to drive the old kingpins out , but what I use is an old kingpin that I spun on a grinder to turn it down a little , I then threaded a 6x1mm stud in the grease fitting hole ..

Default where to get ?

Great how-to article...
my question is where can on find king pins (kit) for older bikes ?

I have an '86 fourtrax that's hard to find affordable parts for. I don't really want to buy new from the dealer. I would prefer a good aftermarket source.

I highly doubt anyone makes aftermarket kingpin kits, you can buy OEM kingpins from bikebandit.com,or chapparrelmotorsports.com, and other places that advertise in atv magazines, so you can search online for the best price. As for after market parts for older bikes these dealers carry many normal wear parts like bearings ,tierod ends, brake shoes, cables, filters, and even some engine parts.

Thank you so much for helpful information and reply. I checked on BikeBandit and they have them for about $30 less than local dealer. Not a heck of a lot of savings after shipping but enough to make me happy. LOL. Thanx again for the great reply.

I bought my kingpins (pretty much everything to rebuild the front knuckles, bushings and bearings) for my 86 TRX250 on AllJet World of Powersports w/ Alljet.com Motorsports' Honda ATV Parts Finder

As for removal, I took a metal rod about the same size and used a hammer to bang them out. One took about 35 minutes to bang out and the other took 4-5 taps. So, keep in mind it may not be an easy task.
