Trying to get an idea on paddle tires

Hello everyone! I am getting ready to go to the dunes this summer with my 2007 trx400ex and I am looking at buying some paddle tires and front sand tires also in the near future. I was wondering, because there are so many different kinds and companies, what would you suggest brand and model wise? Also looking at the price too, got to start saving now. Thank you for all your help!!!

I like the buffed down 6-paddle Skat-Trak Edges for the 400EX. They are way lighter than the new crop of moulded paddles (weight is your absolute enemy in the sand!), and they are wider and give better floatation. Best to put them on a set of ITP T-9 rims, which are wider than stock and have a greater offset.

Out here where the dunes are huge and the bowls are steep, I like the V-shaped paddles becasue they maneuver and sidehill better. On the other hand, if all you want to do is drag race in some mostly level sandbox, then get the staright paddle haulers.

I just took a quick look online at the Skat-Trak and I really like those. Like you said they arent molded paddles, and wieght is your enemy in sand. The edge would be perfect because out in Michigan, the Silver lake sand dunes are hardly flat.

Which size of the ITP T-9 rims would you recommend for the 400ex because there are a few different sizes? I believe I am looking at the T-9 pro series also. Thanks so much for your help!!!
