I want to get back in to racing quads again and i have a wicked 2004 cr250, i can get alot of $$$ if i part out. i was going to keep the engine because i want to build a 250r because i love the 2 strokes. this is going to be a full race quad an i want know if anyones done this or how will the engine line up?any vibrations? how will the exhaust work(use cr or trx)?and is there any kits or frames i can buy for this project?

lone star and others have done swaps like this with custom frames. also sidewinder will help you with gearing ratio matches.

Yes, you should be able to put that motor in a 250r frame. My buddy just put a Curtis Sparks CR250 motor in his 250r and that thing RIPS!!!!! I think your gonna have to put in the trx exhaust because I dont think the CR will fit, but I could be wrong.

Service Honda sells a CR 250 engine in a quad frame. I have read a number of reviews on it, so search around and you might find one of the reviews.

Service Honda - TRX250R

So, you have an engine, get a Service Honda frame and drop it in! Probably going to want to have a forward kick starter!!!

That engine is so powerful....you would have to reinforce the frame so much I doubt it would be worth the trouble.

There have been a lot of XR650 engines dropped into 400EX frames. Honda should have done this back in 2000! They would have captured the big bore market, but Yamaha got it with the Raptor instead. Then Honda comes out with a version of this engine in the weirdo 700XX, years to late....
