250ex Rear end Grinding?
Hey guys,
I just got a 2003 Honda 250ex it seems to run good. But sometimes makes a grinding noise from the rear?
When inspecting the rear it seems tight.
But theres a little metal piece dangling on the left side of the axle, I can push it back in with my fingers, But it seems to come back off sometimes?
What should i do?
Thanks...

Do you not have an owner's manual?
Could be that the rear gear case is empty, and you are grinding up your gears???
There is a large fill hole on the top, and a small weep hole on the side. You overfill it a little, and remove the weep hole bolt and it flows out the hole and that is how you know you have the proper oil level.
It takes a "hypoid" gear oil, but I don't have an owner's manual in front of me for the exact specs (GL4 I think???).
